Option of surgery

Pre operatively, eye drops may be instilled for dilation.
The patient lies supine (on their back)
The eye to be operated is cleaned with antiseptic solution and drapes are applied to allow for a sterile field
The rest of the face is covered
Some patients may feel uncomfortable (claustrophobic, short of breath etc)
